Readers share some of their favorite apps

Every night afterwards checking my email, Facebook and Twitter one last time, I set the phone's alarm clock and gently slide it in accordance with my pillow.

Square: It allows users to accept credit and debit cards via an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Android phone. Fused glass artist and photographer Lisa Mueller said it allows her to accept payment from clients for her businesses anywhere. Once signed up, a free card reader will be mailed to you.

Evernote and DropBox: These apps use cloud computing to give people searchable access to documents, photos and videos from anywhere. It can sync from desktop to mobile device and vice versa. "You can categorize your stuff, however the search function is so good you can find anything. You can even search text in other words in a photo. It's pretty amazing and keeps you organized," Cannon Turner, an anesthesiologist with Fort Sanders Anesthesia Group, said of Evernote.

Hipstamatic and Instagram: These retro photography apps give users to ability to apply a variety of effects or filters to the pictures they take and share them through a number of social networks. "It takes amazing photos. I can download onto any social media network and I can even order prints in different sizes that show up at my door in five days. All from my phone!" Michelle Simpson said of Hipstamatic.

Spotify and Pandora: Listening to music never sounded so good with these apps. Robert Cathey of Cathey Communications said Spotify lets users create custom lists, share them and listen offline. "It as well has a high-quality audio setting, which gives you something approaching CD-quality audio."
