Red Hat steps up channel recruitment
The company currently has about 120 partners across A/NZ, however aims to increase this figure as it plans to step up its indirect business.
Red Hat A/NZ managing director, Max McLaren, said it was relying on partners to manage demand for its enterprise-based open source solutions. "Red Hat's focus is for all that very much around infrastructure and bolstering the Unix to Linux migration business. Nevertheless, we expect virtualisation and cloud computing will play a more important role in the channel while 2011, and we plan to focus on working with partners to drive their business in this area," McLaren said. "We believe Solaris to Linux migrations will continue to be a key possibility."
According to Queensland-based Surebridge IT sales manager, Glenda Solomon, open source will continue to be a big part of its business this year. Surebridge is a Red Hat Advanced Business partner.
