REDCOM HDX softswitch Successfully Installed by Northwestel
Northwestel, which provides advanced telecommunications services in the Canadian arctic, needed a powerful, at once-generation Class 4/5 softswitch that was in the extreme reliable, low maintenance, and low power, given the difficulty servicing telecom equipment in the north’s remote regions.
The REDCOM HDX provides Northwestel with a drop-in solution to replace the current legacy Nortel DMS-10, reducing power consumption during providing the possibility to migrate to IP-based services henceforth. It allows Northwestel to retain the investment in the existing network, and replace network components when it makes technical and financial sense. With no planned obsolescence, and substantial future-proofing, the HDX will serve Northwestel long into the future.
