Samsung Galaxy Player PMP to offered as an Android-based home phone by Korea's LG U+

If Archos can make an Android-based home phone, so can Samsung. The Korean giant is launching its Galaxy Player PMP as a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) device on LG U+ in accordance with the name of Galaxy 070. As far as we can tell, this isn’t the real phone like Archos’ 35 Smart Home Phone. In other words it’s a regular media player that relies on the Internet for calling. We do live in the digital age and I guess before long enough pretty much any home phone in developed world will work like this…

Anyway, the Galaxy Player PMP is at heart a stripped down version of the Galaxy S smartphone. It doesn’t have a cellular radio, however it does have pretty much everything else. That said, there’s a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, 3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0, T-DMB support, 8GB of internal memory and a memory card slot.
