Sangoma's High Density Voice Transcoding Card Can be Used as Session Border Controller
“The D500 is very useful for companies and network operators that host IP PBX, call centers and VoIP services, where there is a great need for high port density,” said Doug Vilim (News - Alert), vice president at Sangoma, in a statement.
As more and more VoIP networks get deployed and interconnected, there are instances where there will be mismatches of codec capabilities between two endpoints, creating the need to transcode (mediate and adapt between various codecs), the company said.
Sangoma provides voice and data connectivity components for software-based communication applications. Back in October, Sangoma announced it has been placed on the Technology Fast 500 - Deloitte's (News - Alert) ranking of 500 of the fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America, TMCnet reported.
