Thousands of clients in more than 40 countries, from explosive-growth web start-ups to Fortune 500 enterprises, rely on Engine Yard for agile deployment and scaling, high performance, and 24×7 uptime, allowing them to leverage the cloud for competitive advantage. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, Engine Yard is backed by Benchmark Capital, New Enterprise Associates and Amazon.com.

“A key part of this Government's strategy to create employment and growth in the economy is to ensure that we can build on our established base of world-leading research companies,” the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Technology Richard Bruton, TD, said this morning.

“This means ensuring that more and more dynamic and innovative international companies locate operations here, and ensuring that more indigenous companies start and expand on the back of their presence here. This announcement by but another dynamic research company that it is locating major global headquarters in Dublin is great news and shows that we are making real progress.”

“Engine Yard is expanding globally, and we are excited to open our EMEA headquarters in Ireland and support the region's thriving innovation community,” said John Dillon, CEO of Engine Yard.

Barry O’Leary, CEO, IDA Ireland, in welcoming Engine Yard to Dublin said: “I am delighted that a pioneering company like Engine Yard has chosen to establish its EMEA headquarters in Dublin. Cloud computing represents a major economic possibility for Ireland.

“IDA Ireland, as part of our Horizon 2020 strategy, will continue to target and win investments from high-growth innovation companies in order to become a global cloud centre of excellence.”
