
Silver Creek benefits from lightning strike
Aside from making students happy to get out of school early on June 7, the lightning strike to tell the truth helped the school upgrade its phone system.
"When something bad happens, at times something good can come of it," he said. "Our replacement system from the lightning strike is now being installed, and working closely with our insurance company, we found that replacing the destroyed system with a new Voice Over IP hybrid system with office phones on our network was less expensive than restoring the old system and lines."
"The insurance company has committed to paying the full cost of this replacement. A VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) conversion had been planned as part of our Capital Project, so it is good to know that with this research installed, we can get ahead on this important item within the project," he said.
