
Skype Admits Android App Privacy Vulnerability
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) communications provider, Skype has acknowledged reports that malicious software can access confidential information when a Skype client is installed onto Android based smartphones.
The malicious software is able to access the locally stored Skype for Android files. These files include cached profile information and instant messages.
In a statement, the company said that it is working quickly to develop a fix for the vulnerability, including securing the file permissions on the Skype for Android application.
