
Skype Buys Group Messaging Provider
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) telephone services provider, Skype has announced that it is buying GroupMe, a provider of mobile group messaging services for an undisclosed amount, which has been rumoured to be between $50 million and $85 million.
GroupMe was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in New York, New York. Through the acquisition of GroupMe, Skype said that it continues its drive to provide a multi-platform communications service.
