Synergy Research Releases Total Enterprise Network Equipment Q2 2010 Report
"This is truly an exciting time for Enterprise Networks. For a while, the focus has been on an individual application such as VoIP or a single product like the Ethernet Switch, but truly the killer application today is not one thing but many network elements working together, creating a powerful cloud of computing and communication resources," said Jeremy Duke, principal analyst and founder of Synergy (News - Alert) Research Group, in a statement.
The hardware
Synergy defines Enterprise Network Equipment as the hardware and software that facilitate the use and operation of an organization's computing and communication resources.
This includes the combination of routers, switches, network security gear, video, wireless LANs, IP telephony, UC applications, collaboration, conferencing and legacy phone equipment.
