TelcoBridges Media Gateways Power the COMTUBE Project From Mebius Telecom
Montreal, Canada and Moscow, Russia (Vocus/PRWEB ) July 7, 2010 -- TelcoBridges Inc., a leading provider of enabling technologies for telecom network convergence, value-added services, and performance management, today announced that Mebius Telecom LLC of Moscow, Russia, has deployed TelcoBridges’ Tmedia VOIP gateways to provide advanced SIP and TDM connectivity and transcoding capabilities for its COMTUBE hosted IP telephony services offering.
The guidance of Mebius Telecom
Launched in 2008 under the guidance of Mebius Telecom, COMTUBE provides convenient modern telecommunication services such as audio conferencing, IP telephony, voice mail, Fax over IP, group broadcasts (phone/fax/SMS), and calendaring, among many others, in a secure, hosted environment. Comtube services are widely available and adopted in Russia, other CIS member states, and Israel, with new points of presence coming online in the near future.
“The concept behind the COMTUBE project came about following our work with Russian and Israeli companies that wanted to reduce their telecom costs and complexity while maintaining the flexibility of multiple channels like wireline and mobile,” said Mikhail Redin, CEO of Mebius Telecom LLC. “Tmedia VOIP gateways were a key enabler in bringing the COMTUBE project to market, offering the most signaling and transcoding support and network capacity in a single 2U device, and enabling us to deliver on our customer and pricing commitments.”
“TelcoBridges’ family of media gateways support the drive by service providers to deploy new value-added services such as Logic Line while capping or reducing their costs,” said Daniel Paradis, Director, Global Sales at TelcoBridges Inc. “With their high density and support for multiple concurrent signaling protocols in the same device, along with a choice of STM-1or E1 connectivity, Tmedia VOIP gateways enable Mebius Telecom to optimize revenue-generating system capacity as their business grows, while minimizing the operating and capital costs typically associated with it.”
The Tmedia family of VOIP gateways offer connectivity options ranging from 1-1024 T1/E1/J1, 1-48 DS-3 or 1-48 STM-1 interfaces, scaling to over 32,000 universal voice channels in a single system. Recognized for their high density and energy efficiency, Tmedia media gateways provide support for SS7, ISDN, SIGTRAN, SIP, H.323 and H.248 in a single device, enabling them to perform the work of multiple devices while using the power, cooling and rack space of just one. This results in energy savings of up to 2/3rds when compared to competing products.
