
TeleCommunication Systems Executive Elected as Vice Chairman of the E9-1-1 Institute Board
Mr. Lorello was elected to the board of directors in 2009 and has contributed vision, leadership, knowledge and awareness for the advancement of 9-1-1 and public safety. Mr. Lorello and the board work together to educate lawmakers, constituents and governmental committees about the importance of citizen-activated emergency response systems. With his experience and dedication to promoting E9-1-1 and public safety, Mr. Lorello will continue to help the E9-1-1 Institute serve as a forum for policy discussion, related to E9-1-1 and emergency communications that will benefit public policy development.

Executive Director of the E9-1-1 Institute Gregory L. Rohde states, "Tim brings a highly valued perspective and firm commitment to public safety communications to the E9-1-1 Institute. His leadership will help our organization stay abreast with the technology and cultural challenges in the migration to next generation 9-1-1 services."
In his current position at TCS, Mr. Lorello is responsible for strategic partnerships, distribution channels, and sales of the company's portfolio of messaging, location and emergency 9-1-1 products and services. Mr. Lorello joined the company in 1995 and used his broad experience in the computer industry and in-depth expertise in telecommunications to lead the creation of TCS' commercial division. Prior to joining TCS, Mr. Lorello worked for AT&T/Bell Laboratories, where he specialized in intelligent networks and providing marketing support for the cellular, PCS, independent and broadband intelligent network industry segments. He holds six patents.
Mr. Lorello states, "At TCS, we recognize there are numerous 9-1-1 topics in front of the Federal Communications Commission today including patent infringement lawsuits, location accuracy requirements, suggestions of a single standard for multiple communications methods, and the impact of next-generation 9-1-1 technologies. The E9-1-1 Institute's unique composition of vendors, operators, public servants, and public safety advocates produces a comprehensive perspective of these complex topics and provides insight and guidance to lawmakers and regulators on Capitol Hill and beyond. The E9-1-1 Institute is a not-for-profit organization that supports the mission of the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus.
