Telinta CEO to Exhibit at ITEXPO West 2010
Telinta, a supplier of turnkey VoIP switch partition and hosted billing solutions for start-up telecoms, will be attending ITEXPO West 2010 in LA in just a few days. To get a sneak peek at what Alex Ferdman, CEO of Telinta will be exhibiting, we at TMC (News - Alert) asked him a few questions below. He gave us the scoop on his thoughts on cloud computing, social media explorations, wireless operating systems, and the ever-advancing telecommunications arena.
AF: The paradigm shift away from using the local resources toward cloud computing is the most important trend in today’s communications. The ease of access to remote computing sites provided by the Internet allows small companies to forego buying expensive equipment and software.
This is fundamental idea on which we built our business. Telinta is years ahead of the current trend, while other companies are just beginning to catch on. We now own and operate the largest PortaSwitch installation in the world, providing a complete and proven out-of-the-box telecom cloud platform together with always-available expert 24/7 technical staff.
AF: The market needs to recognize the importance of cloud services for small start-up and high-traffic telecommunications companies. A hosted PortaSwitch service is a cost effective turnkey solution to start sending traffic to vendors in a matter of days.
AF: This year, Telinta launched a Switch Partition channel on TMCnet. TMCnet is the leader in the communications and technology media space, boasting more than 10 million unique visitors and 300 million annual page views. The channel is used to disseminate the state of the art of the switch partition and hosted billing to the telecommunications community.
AF: Natural competition between the VoIP vendors will drive technologies such as HD VoIP into the mainstream in several years. Of course, device compatibility and interoperability will present a significant challenge, and it remains to be seen if 2011 will be the year when the technology reaches widespread adoption. Really, the answer to this question rests in the hands of the phone manufacturers.
The future competition
Telinta is well prepared for the future competition by enabling our customer to transparently pass wideband and HD traffic. This helps VoIP providers make decisions that are right for their business now and be prepared for the future.
AF: With the introduction of new mobile phones with front-facing cameras, the time is ripe for the explosion of mobile video chat and conferencing. Business professionals who are always on the move can use video conferencing to connect with their coworkers. Mobile video chatting can provide travelers and commuters an easy way of reconnecting with their families.
AF: The growth of cloud-based services has aided our company, because Telinta hosted PortaSwitch is a cloud service, and we are benefitting from people realizing what a good idea it is to have their business data and equipment hosted remotely.
Telinta has made years of investment in building our hosted PortaSwitch system. All technical expertise required to manage, maintain, and operate the platform is covered by Telinta as part of our hosted cloud package. Telinta takes care of the technical details, letting our clients focus on bringing more revenue to their successful business.
AF: We are very excited to premier TeliSIM - a convenient and easy-to-use solution for making cheap mobile phone calls - at ITEXPO (News - Alert) West 2010. TeliSIM is based on our PINLESS solution with the additional convenience of direct dialing from mobile phones or from the mobile phone contact list.
TeliSIM works with a thin programmable chip that adheres to a mobile phone's SIM-card and enables GSM phones to use PINLESS service without the need to dial access numbers. Telinta supplies the chips which can be programmed directly on the mobile phone or with the use of our software application via the USB card-reader/programmer.
AF: The continuing spread of thin clients, netbooks, and smart phones will have a large impact on business operation. These ubiquitous devices, coupled with advances in cloud computing, will free businesses from large hardware and software investments while presenting them with more opportunities.
