Tennis Tournament, Sponsored by FeatureTel, to Benefit Hospice of Wake County

North Carolina’s Hospice of Wake County will be the beneficiary of the Fifth Annual Western Wake Tennis Association or WWTA Tennis Charity Classic. Also supporting this charity is FeatureTel (News - Alert). FeatureTel offers hosted VoIP business telephone service over private networks.

The third consecutive year

For the third consecutive year, FeatureTel is the Ace Sponsor of the Tennis Charity Classic. Nearly $22,000 was raised during the 2009 event. More than 70 area businesses supported the charity last year. With 180 players across all events, the Tennis Charity Classic was sold out.

With help and sponsorship from area businesses, a charity tournament is conducted by WWTA every year. Apart from raising funds for Hospice of Wake County, the charity is also used for WWTA scholarships. Men’s and mixed doubles tournaments in the afternoon were added by the Charity Tennis Classic in 2008. These matches ran in parallel with a free clinic for children. A dinner along with exhibition matches follows the afternoon matches. The total gross receipts for previous years have been topped by donations before the start of the event.
