Truphone slashes calling rates

I’m not sure is it a response to the wildly popular VoIP phone calls Google has introduced recently, but whatever the reason is – we salute Truphone‘s move to slash calling rates.

The new rates are now as low as 2

The new rates are now as low as 2.1 cents per minute, meaning that calls to some of the most popular destinations such as the United States, France and China, can cost as little as $1.30 per hour! Of course, calls between Truphone users over Wi-Fi or 3G (if you’re on an unlimited data plan) remain free. Moreover, Truphone has also reduced the cost of its unlimited monthly call package to just $12.95 per month.

Commenting on the news, Truphone’s CEO Geraldine Wilson said: “Truphone wants to take the pain out of keeping in touch with friends and family, whether at home or away. Our wide range of applications, calling bundles, new calling rates and lower monthly plans make it easy and cost-effective for people to talk to their heart's content.”
