Ubiquity's Patented IP Backhaul Technology Has Accomplished What No Other Live
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Ubiquity Broadcasting Corporation has developed the world's first broadcasting platform to deliver a live High Definition broadcast while using an IP backhaul to screens big and small. Ubiquity Broadcasting's IP Backhaul technology, which includes a wi-fi connection, motion graphics, commercials, replays, and a telestrator, was demonstrated live in June 2010 at the Sponsor Me Ala Moana Bowls contest in Honolulu, Hawaii. The surf contest was broadcast and distributed by Ubiquity over the Internet, on Time Warner Oceanic Cable, on the iPhone, iPad, and other mobile devices simultaneously. Ubiquity is the first in the world to use a telestrator to stream real-time replays to the iPhone and iPad. Ubiquity currently has 8 broadcasting patents centered around the next generation of broadcasting, termed an IP backhaul. This game changing broadcast has now set the stage for Ubiquity to license its intellectual property and its patented IP backhaul technology.
CEO Chris Carmichael said, "We are the first in the world to accomplish this new way of broadcasting. We have spent the past 9 years patenting the methodology and perfecting the necessary technology for Ubiquity's IP backhaul broadcast. No other broadcast in history has used an IP backhaul in-laid with motion graphics, streaming commercials, and a telestrator for real-time replays." During the contest Chris Carmichael showed the world's first IP backhaul streaming live on both the iPad and iPhone simultaneously during Time Warner Oceanic Cable's broadcast to their station.
Ubiquity's IP backhaul technology provides a direct IP stream to broadcasters eliminating the need for expensive satellite trucks, production equipment, and costly fixed fiber drops. By using an IP backhaul broadcasters are afforded the flexibility and mobility needed to deliver a cost effective HD broadcast. Ubiquity's technology also allows for further distribution on all digital media screens (mobile, television, digital cinema, and Internet) simultaneously, and gives ease of use to the end user. New distribution points like Apples iPad and iPhone, and other mobile devices such as the Droid, create more eyeballs for broadcasters, which in turn bring more advertising dollars to their broadcasts. With Ubiquity's game changing technology viewers can now watch the same HD stream they are accustomed to at home, in the palm of their hands. Ubiquity's VP Connie Jordan said, "Ubiquity's IP backhaul allows people all over the world to view live broadcasts anywhere anytime by landing on mobile media devices such as the iPhone and iPad." Chris added, "It is all about empowering the end user and delivering a rich experience. This is what the world of broadcasting has been waiting for."
Ubiquity's Director of live webcasts, Daniel Swiney, who has done over 100 live broadcasts and webcast, said, "To be able to stream with such clarity to the iPhone and iPad is second to none. This is better than anything out there"
