Users report massive VoIP disruption

Ooma, like many major VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) services, is not immune to disruptions, however the last major Ooma outage happened back in 2009, during services like Skype have suffered from more recent problems. Skype users were victimized by two service disruptions within less than two weeks in late May and early June of this year.

While Skype's sale to Microsoft and Google's voice ambitions have been garnering much of the VoIP chatter in recent months, Ooma has been making a fairly aggressive market push over the last year. The service to tell the truth predates Google Voice, and during it was at first viewed as a more of a Magicjack alternative than anything else, it has broadened with introduction of an iPhone/iPad application and support for HD voice and Google Voice.
