Verizon Business Powers The SCOOTER Store
BASKING RIDGE, N.J., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- When The SCOOTER Store -- a leading U.S. provider of mobility equipment such as power wheelchairs and scooters -- needed to improve its customer contact center operations and enable greater business continuity, it turned to Verizon Business for an integrated networking and IT solution.
Partnering with Verizon Business, The SCOOTER Store has enhanced its consolidated IP-based voice, video and data network that connects the company's 70 locations throughout the U.S. This streamlined network infrastructure will enable the company to operate more efficiently while lowering its IT costs, and enable it to even better focus on its core business mission.
"The SCOOTER Store relies heavily on Verizon Business to help it carry out its mission: to provide freedom and independence to people with limited mobility," said Gary Vogel, vice president of infrastructure, The SCOOTER Store. "There are only a few companies that we consider strategic partners - the highest ranking we give to our partners. Verizon Business has earned that position with The SCOOTER Store. Our deep, broad relationship with Verizon Business has enabled us to consolidate and leverage our IP resources in ways that otherwise would not have been possible."
By implementing Verizon's award-winning VoIP solutions, including the company's IP Trunking service with Burstable Enterprise Shared Trunks (BEST), The SCOOTER Store was able to achieve greater insight and control over its call routing and traffic management through the consolidation of traditional local access lines and trunks.
The BEST capability enables The SCOOTER Store to use idle trunk capacity at one location to accommodate an increase in traffic at another. This reduces the total number of voice communications trunks required to link the company's locations, in addition to offering cost savings.
The SCOOTER Store
"With The SCOOTER Store, we had the unique opportunity of enabling a mid-size business through the strategic use of technology," said Jared Kearney, senior vice president, enterprise sales, Verizon Business. "With its new IP-based solution, The SCOOTER Store is now able to better serve its customers."
