The third quarter of 2011

For the third quarter of 2011, revenue rose 29 percent to $4.5 million, from $3.5 million a year previously, according to a news release.

"This has been a very good quarter for the company," CEO Bruce Widener said in the release. "Challenging economic environment nevertheless and in light of the recent positive trends in IT spending on the whole related to data centers and cloud computing, Beacon is beginning to see the result of the past three quarters' work."

Tuesday, Beacon announced that it will team with ICS to provide infrastructure services to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's Red Metro Line. The project is expected to generate $4 million in revenue for Beacon.
