
Whither India?
“The sheer number of people in Asia is the first factor going for Asia,” said Kitty Lun, the articulate Chief Executive Officer of Lowe China, who charmed everyone with her sense of humour. The second factor that could tilt the scales towards this continent, she feels, is the digital revolution sweeping advertising. This was echoed by Doctoroff, who said that the advent of innovation had liberated creatives.
But Lun as well warned against making too much of digital. “Earlier you master digital, a new form — cloud computing — has already come up,” she exclaims. And for Doctoroff, during digital was exciting, for brand-building work, it was on the whole not the first choice platform.
