XConnect Wins 2010 Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award With GSMA
“We are delighted that Global Telecoms Business has honoured our company as an innovator for the third year in a row, and we commend the GSMA for its role in our industry-first collaboration,” said XConnect CEO Eli Katz. “The award indicates increasing recognition of the need for interworking between ENUM registries to enrich the global delivery of new services, such as high-definition voice, video and presence. It also reflects the drive toward convergence of fixed and mobile networks.”
In presenting the awards, Alan Burkitt-Gray, editor of Global Telecoms Business, said, “This is the fourth time we’ve run our Innovation Awards and each year we’ve seen that the industry is working harder and harder to deliver exciting and innovative services to its customers worldwide.”
Burkitt-Gray added: “The industry is seeing a wave of innovation which is making a huge difference – to the companies working in the industry and to all of us in business and as consumers. They are making such a difference to the world. We want to celebrate what they are doing.”
Companies honoured ranged from large global organisations to regional specialists. About 330 industry leaders from around the world attended the Global Telecoms Business awards event June 7 in London.
In previous years, XConnect received Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards for its national IP-peering federations in Korea and the Netherlands.
