Zito Media Selects Juniper Networks' Solutions

Zito Media has selected Juniper's solutions to upgrade its network and develop a broadband infrastructure capable of serving underserved communities located in Zito's service areas of New York, northern Pennsylvania and western Ohio.

Officials with Zito said that the company that it selected Juniper Networks (News - Alert) MX80 Universal Edge Routers powered by Junos software to offer a multitude of advanced IP services, including VPLS, EPL, EVPL, IP transit and hosted VoIP solutions that provide easy management and cost savings for subscribers.

Recently, Zito was awarded a federal grant by the Department of Commerce through its National Telecommunications and Information Administration's Broadband Technology Opportunities Program.

The Juniper Networks MX80 enables Zito to scale a 10 Gigabit IP/MPLS backbone as subscriber demand rises and offer a full range of IP services including voice, video, and data services to residential customers as well as businesses, hospitals, schools, public safety agencies and other community organizations.

Juniper officials said that the MX80 is part of the company’s family of MX Series 3D Universal Edge Routers that enable the delivery of business, residential and mobile services at massive scale.
