An Apple Worth $39.3 Billion

The London-based consulting firm estimates the monetary value of Apple's brand at $39.3 billion, up from $29.5 billion previously this year and $19.8 billion last year.

Apple is just behind Google, which is now listed with abrand value of $48.3 billion, up from $44.3 billion before this year. Microsoft lost nearly $4 billion to $39.0 billion, IBM dropped slightly to $36.0 billion, Walmart dropped to $35.0 billion and GE to $29.1 billion. Other tech companies among the Top 30 brands are AT&T in 7th place with $28.3 billion, HP with $25.0 billion, Intel with $23.5 billion), Amazon with $20.9 billion and Comcast with $11.8 billion.

The value of the Top 100 brands have fallen

Overall the value of the Top 100 brands have fallen by about 2.4 percent, Brand Finance said. But, brand valuations carry a great deal of perception value as then. For instance, BrandZ estimated Apple's brand value at $153.3 billion previously this year.

There's a sucker born every minute... meanwhile 2 in Apple's case. They have perfected the electronic fashion accessory.

Month or so old

This news is a month or so old. And I think there was an article on Tom's here already about it. Does Tom's think we need another reminder of this shame? I find it funny how Intel is half of Apple's value... I wonder what Apple would be doing without their CPUs. Or nVidia's graphics. Or Foxconn boards. Or... etc. Have you noticed how willingly Apple supports the myth of their uniqueness, trying to avoid mentioning hardware specs as much as possible? Many people in all seriousness DO think that Apple makes their own hardware, and they're wrong.Sadly, they as well think that market value and brand value equals to the quality and uniqueness of the company's products. Good advertisement, although.

This is just a company in other words paid to tell investors that the company they invest in is "valuable". This as a matter of fact means nothing about the company. The validity of those figures is like comparing a small jet liner to the IST. Microsoft has a Huge market share in the industry, far higher than Apple. Even GE is bigger. You cannot look at this figure alone.

World of hunger

In a world of hunger and despair, I find it vomitous that people brag about Apple's worth to parallel something inside themselves by proxy. It just shows the lack of self confidence and humanity in terms of sharing that made Apple so much money. The ME generation on steroids. Amazing how this is the brand, not the company's true asset tree, however some troll will latch onto this just like other nonsense key phrases the Pinocchio company loves to regurgitate for their robots.

Anyway you put it, Apple will loose its momentum several times henceforth, will fail with a product or products, will have bugs, will face problems, paradigm changes, recessions, you name it, and it will in the end die someday. Apple has to demonstrate every year it deserves the market attention as any other company who wants to stay relevant. However it wont make a great prediction to say very general arguments like these. After all if you have a great study bring it.Yet every argument that works on one side as well must be pondered on the other side. If for Apple will be difficult or impossible to continue creating the "new toys" for years so it will be hard for everyone else. Apple as well has been hated when they were one the poorest computer companies. At those times haters were saying Apple would disappear in six month or so nevertheless that was 10 years ago. So, they are having a great time now. The best I can say is save the negative feelings and do something great with that energy on your own life. What I actually dislike today has to do with some of our "current" values as individuals and as a society. Yet I can't blame Apple alone for that.

I am very sceptical of all this, "brand value", nonsense. Seems like politics to me. Dont you think that the true value of a company should be based on its net profits? Is Apple making more money than EXXON, Google or Microsoft? Brand value is fleeting! Just ask AOL, MySpace or Apple.

Brand bases valuation

they are using Asset value calculation to bring up a brand bases valuation, believe me I work in this industry and apple in NOT worth 39.3 billion, I put the actual Brand of apples logo at a fraction of this price, I value it at 1.2 billion, this is the apple logo and term "Apple", The brand "Iphone" how ever is worth around 2.3 billion in short on others, so ALL brands apple owns separately are worth less than 39 odd billion, however the apple brand itself is to tell the truth very much less, remember apple owns a few other brands also nearly 10,000 of them, take the brand "App store" the value of in other words a bit, yet what they have done here is added asset value as brand value
