Asean info officers to gather at Bangkok forum

"It serves as a forum for CIOs [chief information officers] to exchange their knowledge and experiences to forge even closer cooperation in information and communications research among Asean member countries," Jirawan Boonperm, permanent secretary of the ICT Ministry, said yesterday.

The event is part of the Asean ICT Master Plan 2015

The event is part of the Asean ICT Master Plan 2015, which outlines the bloc's ICT development through the promotion of innovations and closer cooperation in ICT development among the government, business and public sectors in each country along with all parties.

Kumpol Sontanarat, a member of the CIO16 Association, said there would be many interesting topics covering all ICT-related aspects just as cloud computing, cloud security, convergence of network, cyber-security, cyber-forensics, and Asean governance, risk management and compliance. It as well covers the education aspect just as how to employ ICT to manage such disasters as tsunamis or floods, or how to work on the reconciliation of people from various ethnic minorities in a country.
