In a release, Basho promoted the new software, stating that Riak CS gives organizations storage capabilities that are similar to Amazon S3. Basho touts may advantages of Riak CS. It allows for multi-tenant storage, enabling companies to manage their resources more efficiently. It is as well compatible with Amazon S3, letting users to take advantage of existing S3 tools and frameworks. The software as well has reporting capabilities, allowing businesses to gain both visibility and control over either public or private clouds with support for billing, accounting, subscriptions, chargeback and multi-department utilization.
