Bayan to offer cloud computing service
Manila, Philippines - Lopez-owned Bayan Telecommunications has forayed into cloud computing with the launch of its CloudSecure service.
At a innovation roadshow event held for clients in Pasig City, Bayan Business, the company’s corporate solutions arm, has joined forces with DataOne Asia, the leading independent provider of managed research services to enterprises, to offer cloud computing service to the local enterprise market.
DataOne, started in 2002 by the Keppel Group of Singapore, has been offering data center outsourcing, managed infrastructure, operations management, computing services including hosting, and managing clients’ applications, among others. Its core business is built upon its high end Tier 3 data center located at the IBM Plaza Building in Quezon City.
Bayan chief operating officer Rafael Aguado said with this partnership, the company is taking another bold step in its continuous mission to provide clients with effective, relevant and affordable business solutions.

Regarded as the at once big business trend, cloud computing provides centralized maintenance and regulation for various programs and applications needed by enterprises.
Bayan vice president and overall sales head Aniceto Franco III said by virtue of the agreement, Bayan and DataOne will now be offering the most complete cloud computing service in the market, and will be making these available not just for large-scale enterprises, however also for small to medium scale businesses who are in need of efficient work systems and increased productivity.

Cloud computing is booming in the country since most local firms are now switching to cloud-based services because of its benefits: easy to implement and roll out, easy to scale or downscale, and cheap to subscribe and maintain.
DataOne built its CloudSecure computing platform with Cisco data center and Virtualization solutions, and has partnered with the leading IT infrastructure vendors in its design to support long-term and mission critical requirements of the most demanding and security-conscious business.
