Call Social Network Connections for Free with Freephoo 2.0

Want to call Facebook friends or LinkedIn connections for free through your iPod Touch?  Believe it or not, there's an app for that!  Freephoo, a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) service that has been around since 2008, uses innovative research to offer new ways of communication through online devices and has just announced a new version of their iPhone and iPod Touch app, freephoo 2.0.

Acting like a phonebook, the app allows you to view all of your Facebook and LinkedIn contacts in the contact view, letting you make social calls for free, as long as the connection is as well a freephoo user as then .  If you'd like to make calls to someone international who isn't on freephoo, a premium account is available.

"People are building and maintaining relationships through the social networks, so the phonebook is no longer the only alternative for contacts," said Pandelis Eliopoulos, co-founder of freephoo. "We are very pleased to give our users the possibility to call Facebook and LinkedIn contacts for free."

The ability to phone other users for free

Beyond the ability to phone other users for free, another feature available for all users is that freephoo provides high audio quality calls, a detail they like to call superHD sound.  During it is not currently available for use in the US, the app is accessible for a long list of countries including Australia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Poland and India.
