CinemaNow like having rental outlet at home

Best Buy is getting into the online entertainment business, offering movies and TV shows for sale and rent through its digital service Cin-emaNow. Following the lead of Apple's iTunes, CinemaNow is the online version of the now nearly obsolete video store. You can buy and rent movies on a pay-as-you-go basis to put it more exactly than by subscription, a model used by Netflix and others. Prices start at $3.99 for movie rentals with the latest releases $4.99; $2.49 for TV shows; and $9.99 to buy movies. Cin-emaNow is counting on attracting viewers with a service that offers new movies on the same day they are released on DVD and TV shows that are available the day afterwards a show airs. When you buy or rent content, it's stored in your own library 'in the cloud,' meaning it's online and available for viewing from various devices, whether it's your computer, laptop or TV. The service works on both PC and Apple computers and on some Internet-connectable Panasonic TVs and Samsung TVs and Blu-ray Disc players. Nevertheless you don't have to buy a new TV to get CinemaNow. The ser-vice is just rolling out in Canada and the CinemaNow app will be available as a firmware upgrade on existing devices just as Blu-ray players and TVs, so you may be able to add it to your existing TV or Blu-ray Player.

When I first came across the Glif, it was a great idea for an iPhone accessory that would let you mount your iPhone on a tripod for taking photos and video or just prop it up, using the Glif as a stand. The designers used Kickstarter, a site for crowd-sourced funding to help take designs from the drawing board to production and I was among the first to send in $20 to back the project and get one of the early Glifs. The project was a huge success and now the creators have expanded the Glif with the addition of two accessories, the Serif and the Ligature. The Serif is a small item that makes your iPhone more secure on the tripod. The Ligature is a little key ring loop that keeps your Glif handy by giving you a way to attach it to a key chain or backpack. The Glif+ includes the Glif, the Serif and the Ligature. If you already have a Glif, $12 gets you the +Pack with just the Serif and Ligature.
