
Comcast customers gain access to WatchESPN app and more thanks to new deal with Disney
Comcast and Disney announced today a 10-year agreement that will allow Comcast cable TV subscribers to watch the Disney, ABC and ESPN family of channels online or through iOS and Android apps.
The part of this deal most people will be excited about is that it grants Comcast clients access to the WatchESPN app for iOS and Android which allows live streaming of ESPN and ESPN2. Until now the only clients able to take advantage of WatchESPN were those with Brighthouse, Time Warner and Verizon FiOS. More “Watch” apps for iOS and Android are in the works as so then to represent the other channels made available for streaming.

According to a news release from Comcast, content from more than 70 channels will be streamable by Comcast clients including: ABC, ABC Family, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Deportes, ESPNEWS,ESPN Classic, ESPN Goal Line, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN 3D, ESPN GamePlan, ESPN FullCourt andESPN3 as then as retransmission consent for seven ABC-owned broadcast television stations and more than 10 high-definition networks.
