CornerStone Signs Cloud Reseller Agreement With Verizon

NEW YORK and TROY, N.Y., April 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CornerStone Telephone Company, a provider of advanced communications services, is now working with Verizon Global Wholesale to provide cloud-computing services to CornerStone's business clients.

The agreement

Under the agreement, CornerStone will resell an enterprise-class cloud service from Terremark, Verizon's IT services subsidiary.  The service, to be sold in accordance with CornerStone's SkySphere brand, will help its clients efficiently and securely manage on-demand computing resources to meet dynamic business requirements during paying only for the resources consumed.

"CornerStone's reseller agreement with Verizon bolsters our already robust portfolio of advanced business information innovation and cloud solutions," said Don Walsh, chief research officer, CornerStone.  "This addition to our portfolio will enable CornerStone to meet customer demand with a proven cloud platform that meets clients' connectivity, redundancy, security and support requirements."

Specifically, CornerStone will resell Terremark's Enterprise Cloud, a Web-based service that provides a self-managed dedicated pool of computing resources.  The service is currently supported by data centers in North America, Latin America and Europe.  The new cloud service joins CornerStone's broad portfolio of reliable business communications solutions, including telephony, Internet, Web hosting, data center services, and cloud-based applications, just as hosted desktop, email encryption, e-commerce and customer relationship management.

The business

"Enterprises of all sizes are recognizing the business and economic benefits of cloud computing," said Mike Millegan, president, Verizon Global Wholesale.  "This agreement with CornerStone underscores our commitment to delivering the advanced services our clients want to offer, and more importantly, the transformational value of cloud computing."
