
CrowdControl Survey Results on U.S. Amazon Mechanical Turk Worker Shows Crowd Is Being Employed
A service of Amazon.com Inc., Amazon Mechanical Turk is a marketplace for work. It gives businesses and developers access to an on-demand, scalable workforce. The platform allows the workers select from thousands of tasks and work whenever it is convenient. Amazon Mechanical Turk is believed to help businesses finish projects quicker and cheaper by deploying multiple workers then and there, to complete tasks over the Internet.
The survey sought to explain how platforms just as Amazon Mechanical Turk are changing the labor market. This new generationIinternet based job market, according to the survey, is fast replacing the outsourcing model and giving companies access to dramatically lower-cost labor. To boot, the model is as well providing the companies with a one-stop shop for high-quality project task returns in nearly real-time.
Ross Dawson, co-author of the recently-released book Getting Results From Crowds: The definitive guide to using crowd-sourcing to grow your business said that American companies will in the near future hire millions of designers, coders, writers, marketers, and other skilled people from all over the world.
