Grand Haven Township officials switch to Internet phone service because of landline difficulties
Ongoing telephone difficulties across town have resulted in officials switching from traditional landlines to online technologies.
Local telephone companies AT&T and TDS have been working to resolve the faulty phone lines however because of the ongoing issues, the township is switching to Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP, Bill Cargo, Grand Haven Township superintendent said in a press release.
"The Township is in the extreme frustrated with the problems associated with the AT&T telephone lines … We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience," Cargo said in the release.
While the VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) service is installed and old numbers are transferred, residents can call 504-1530 should they need assistance meanwhile.
