IBM is acquiring Green Hat, the cloud-based software testing company. Green Hat will becomepart of IBM's Rational developer tools product suite and will be offered through IBM GlobalBusiness Services' Application Management Services.

Green Hat is an automatedtesting tools company, which has been designed to test complex systems relying on cloud, webservices, messaging, SOA, ESB, BPM(business process management), CEP, SAP and other distributedtechnologies. Green Hat's clients include BP, Credit Suisse, British Airways and ScottishPower.
According to Azoff, Green Hat offers innovation for systems testing by allowing individualvirtualised elements to be switched in turn to their live counterparts. The tool as well supportsagile development, according to Azoff.
