InfoVista Takes up MEF White Paper

InfoVista, a source of service assurance solutions, will participate in the Metro Ethernet Forum as part of its commitment to support Carrier Ethernet industry.

The company

The company, which has a solid record in monitoring and managing the performance of Carrier Ethernet networks and business-class services, recently contributed to a white paper from MEF, discussing the need to applying Carrier Ethernet standards to cloud computing with respect to the network.

InfoVista was the first service performance assurance vendor to join the MEF. The company has been active in implementing MEF standards and recommendations within the scope of its network performance management and SLA reporting solution.

VistaInsight for Networks 5.0, the latest network performance management solution, allows service providers to deliver sophisticated offerings and support revenue growth. With its network and service performance and SLA reporting capabilities, network managers, engineers and planning and operations teams can proactively ensure the delivery of business-class services in alignment with MEF standards.

"Key to the success of Carrier Ethernet service providers that are delivering business-class services is their ability to provide differentiated and high-performing services and derive revenue from associated SLAs that comply with MEF specifications," said Kevin Vachon, chief operating officer at MEF. "It's great to see that the company is focused on indiscriminately aligning VistaInsight for Networks with the most recent MEF specifications, and supporting both the global acceptance of Carrier Ethernet and the objectives of service providers offering such services."

The source discusses how cloud

The source discusses how cloud and Ethernet service providers and their enterprise clients can employ Carrier Ethernet within the new model of computing and application delivery. It as well focuses on the importance of network performance management and SLA reporting to prove the value of Carrier Ethernet services and derive increased networks.

"Carrier Ethernet is enabling service providers to offer high-bandwidth, high-value corporate connectivity services, during achieving greater flexibility and cost efficiency from their core network infrastructures," said Vikas Trehan, senior vice president, product strategy and alliances, InfoVista.

The innovation's adoption

"We are committed to accelerating the innovation's adoption, fulfilling the service performance assurance needs of those offering such business-class services, and being an active participant in the MEF, so service providers can get the most out of Carrier Ethernet and untap it as a key source of revenue," Trehan added.

Earlier this year, InfoVista launched its Service Performance Assurance Solution for LTE (Long Term Evolution, latest standard in the mobile network technology) to help wireless operators transition their mobile infrastructure to 4G/LTE (Long Term Evolution, latest standard in the mobile network technology). The solution combines VistaInsight for Networks, Mobile Knowledge Pack and Vista360 and established InfoVista's IP network management to LTE (Long Term Evolution, latest standard in the mobile network technology)'s EPC and E-UTRAN.
