Intercede Previews Mobile Credentialing Solution

Speaking on Friday 23 September, Intercedes Chief Technical Officer, Dr Chris Edwards, will be previewing Intercedes innovative approach to over-the-air provisioning of digital certificates to mobile devices. Using these certificates users can read, send and sign secure encrypted emails on their smart phones.

Richard Parris, Chief Executive at Intercede, commented: With the advent of cloud computing and an increasingly mobile workforce, it is becoming more and more vital to secure the content of private messages sent to personal devices. Nevertheless, until now, it has been difficult and/or inconvenient to securely load the necessary cryptographic key materials into smartphone handsets and this has been a major barrier to secure mobile email adoption. Our clients are consequently delighted that Intercede has solved this problem and we already have a number of pilot installations scheduled for deployment.

Intercede MyID innovation is being used around the world by large corporations, governments and banks to manage millions of identities for employees, citizens and clients. Notable deployments in the US include 14 federal agencies, two million smart cards in support of the US Transportation Worker Identity Credential program, four US financial institutions and 320,000 smart corporate identity badges for Boeing, Booz Allen Hamilton and Lockheed Martin. In Europe and the Middle East Intercede MyID is being deployed in support of government identity, health and corporate employee ID security projects.
