Latest VoIP Gateway Solution Does the Work of Three CPE Devices
Patton always seems to be expanding and enlarging its family of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) gateway products in some way, and the latest addition to its SmartNode VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) family is a product that lowers provisioning and maintenance costs for carrier-providers by doing the work of three customer-premise-equipment devices.
The SmartNode 4670 BRI/FXS/FXO VoIP Integrated Access Device with built-in G.SHDSL broadband access from Patton is expected to start shipping this May. Combining ISDN VoIP gateway, analog VoIP gateway, and G.SHDSL router functions, the SN4670 is a result of the joint work of Patton Electronics and Patton-Inalp Networks AG.
Broadband providers can now offer business-quality IP-based voice, fax, and data services for up to 8 BRIs and FXS/FXO lines by provisioning the SN4670 on clients’ sites. These offerings are as well bundled with high-speed Internet access over 4-wires G.SHDSL.
The SmartNode 4670 benefits small- to medium-sized businesses in particular as its "small-footprint" research facilitates unified communications by IP-enabling digital ISDN-PBX (Private -Automatic- Branch Exchange) systems and analog phone, fax, answering machine, and audio intercom systems.
