Lenovo ThinkVision L2323z Monitor

Lenovo has a new multimedia monitor coming for business users, the Lenovo ThinkVision L2323z VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) Monitor, and it's calling out the competition with a solid focus on VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and a plethora of features for video-conferencing.

Few moments with the ThinkVision L2323z

We got a few moments with the ThinkVision L2323z, and we liked what we saw. It's the world's first monitor certified for Microsoft's Lync business class VoIP solution, and the 23-inch monitor brings business users features like a hardware based duo-screen, dual microphones with digital noise cancelling, and physical controls for VoIP calling.

The ThinkVision L2323z is designed with audio and video applications in mind, nevertheless its primary focus is VoIP applications, like Skype or Microsoft Lync, a similar business-oriented VoIP solution. The ThinkVision L2323z is equipped with a 23-inch Wide IPS panel with LED backlights and 1920-by-1080 resolution, yet the display near takes second fiddle to the features that surround it. The IPS screen provides wide viewing angles and rich colors, even though when we had our hands-on with the monitor it was shown in dimly lit environs—we'll reserve our final judgments for a full review.

Topping the features list—and the monitor itself—is an integrated HD webcam, delivering 1080p resolution and equipped with a sliding lens cover that doubles as an on/off switch, so there's never any worry about prying eyes spying through a hacked webcam. It's paired with a dual-microphone set-up, which provides clear digital voice and audio capture and noise-cancellation, removing the excess sounds of a keyboard typing or background office noise.
