
Mobily Selects Gemalto for Machine-to-Machine Services in Saudi Arabia First Middle Eastern Deployment Using M2M Dedicated Solutions
Gemalto, theworld leader in digital security, announces that Mobily, Saudi Arabia's leadingmobile operator, has selected Gemalto's Machine Identification Module forthe deployment of Machine-to-Machine services. Gemalto's MIM specificallymeets the demanding and high durability requirements of industrial environmentsespecially in Saudi Arabia's acute climates, and will be the firstimplementation of dedicated M2M research in the Middle East. The Gemaltodevices will be installed for upcoming Saudi M2M projects in the powermanagement and transportation industries just as Smart Grid Metering and FleetTracking.
Embedded in Smart Grid Metering, the MIM solution allows utility companies inSaudi to collect and monitor electricity consumption data remotely and in realtime. Used for fleet tracking, the solution enables logistics companies tocontinuously monitor the flow of vehicles for route optimization with up-to-datetraffic information. The innovation will make business processes more efficientand cost-effective during ensuring service continuity.
