Onit Joins Legal Cloud Computing Association (LCCA)

HOUSTON, TX — Onit, a leading provider of business productivity and process management apps, today announced it has joined the Legal Cloud Computing Association, a consortium of leading cloud computing providers.

The LCCA was created to facilitate the adoption of cloud computing among legal professionals and provide a unified and consistent voice for vendors in the legal cloud computing market. Additionally, the organization is responsible for collaborating and cooperating with Bar Associations and other policy-forming bodies in efforts to form policies and guidelines relating to the use of cloud computing in law practices; defining standards and best practices; and providing educational resources to attorneys and the broader legal community on cloud computing.

The newest member of the LCCA

"We're excited to welcome Onit as the newest member of the LCCA," said Jack Newton, acting president of the LCCA and co-founder and CEO of Clio. "With Onit's support we will continue to be a voice for the legal cloud community and help educate lawyers about cloud computing best practices, regulatory issues and cloud-based apps and technologies."

Created on December 15, 2010, the LCCA's goal is to promote standards for cloud computing that are responsive to the needs of the legal profession and to enable lawyers to become aware of the benefits of computing research through the development and distribution of education and informational resources.

About Onit Onit was formed by legal software industry experts Eric M. Elfman and Eric A. Smith, co-founders of Datacert, a leading provider of enterprise spend management software. Launched in early 2010, Onit deploys Onit Apps to simplify business process automation and improve business productivity across all departments and industries. The Onit App Builder allows business users to drive efficiency and productivity by combining business process management, project management and information management into one easy to use tool so the user can create their own Onit Apps without having to rely on IT for support.

Vendor or law firm

Businesses have processes for everything -- whether it's hiring a vendor or law firm, terminating an employee, submitting a contract for review, requesting a trademark request, obtaining an NDA, etc. Most of these processes are manual, paper intensive and cumbersome. With Onit Apps, processes are automated in a few clicks, responsible parties are notified without warning, and data collection is centralized. Onit doesn't require any software to download or resources from IT. For more information, visit www.onit.com or contact 1-800-281-1330.
