Panasonic boosts PBX capacity with firmware upgrade

Apple could face a charge of up to US$1.6 billion if it wants to continue using the iPad name for its popular tablet devices in mainland China afterwards a significant copyright infringement court loss to a Hong Kong LCD maker.

New firmware for Panasonic KX-NCP500 and TDE200/600 IP PBX (Private -Automatic- Branch Exchange) systems brings increased capacity and new features. And it's free, so what's not to like?

The upgrade

With the upgrade, PT and DECT users can put out a call automatically to every phone in a desired group. Panasonic officials said this function is particularly useful for users in the hospitality and medical fields in emergency situations.

Other improvements to the TDE200/600 include increasing the queue length from 30 to 100 during allowing callers to leave a message instead of waiting in the queue. "We are delighted to be able to deliver even greater capacity and features to our clients thanks to these fantastic upgrades including extended handset capabilities and greater flexibility for call centres as then as the hospitality and medical markets," said Matthew Connolly, product marketing manager - unified communications at Panasonic Australia.
