Platfora Wants to Make Sense Out of Hadoop
It's aiming to work with existing Hadoop clusters, including Cloudera, MapR and Amazon EMR, among others, and automatically turn the questions business users pose into dimensional and predictive dashboards, reports and insights.
Platfora was started by ex-Microsoftee and former Greenplum product head Ben Werther. At Microsoft Werther was responsible for planning the "post-Longhorn" Windows Server platform and Microsoft's Hyper-V virtualization platform.
