Potawatomi Business Development

The Potawatomi Business Development Corp. said it will begin construction Monday on its $36 million data center in Milwaukee's Concordia neighborhood.

"Currently, there is not a data center in southeastern Wisconsin that has the level and scale of research that Data Holdings offers," Dan McGrath, a data industry executive, said in a statement. McGrath is founder of Innovation Management Inc. and co-founder and chief executive of NewAge Data Solutions.

The new data center will be designed for midsize to large businesses that need meanwhile 1,000 square feet of information storage space. It will have the power, cooling and communications capabilities required for high-performance, innovation computing systems, said Jay Bayne, executive director of the Milwaukee Institute, a nonprofit group that provides cloud-based technical computing services. The Milwaukee Institute will locate some of its resources at the new center.
