Region's projects win state economic grants
Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday these are some of the local projects that will be funded by the state as part of a new economic development grant competition designed to attract and retain businesses and grow jobs.
The mid-Hudson
In the mid-Hudson, 61 projects were selected for funding, with some of the biggest awards going to projects outside Dutchess and Ulster, including: $4 million to develop the New York Medical College's Biotech Incubator Center for Advanced Technology and $5 million to San-Mar Manufacturing, both of Westchester County. The council's proposed cloud computing center at Marist College that leverages support from IBM and upgrading Stewart International Airport were left out of the grants.
