An equipment failure has occurred in the area of Wayne that has sporadically affected the Verizon phone service throughout Chester County. As a result of this failure some residents may not be able to get a dial tone on their land line telephone. As well some residents are experiencing Internet outages which will disable Voice over Internet Protocol service. Cell phones should not be affected by this equipment failure.
