Solacom adds Guardian Mobile Position to NG9-1-1 Emergency Services Platform

Solacom Technologies, providing communications systems that integrate Voice, Video and Data to deliver advanced IP-based interoperability solutions for public safety 9-1-1, military command, security and other mission critical applications, has announced the availability of a new Guardian Mobile Position as part of its straightway generation 9-1-1 Emergency Services Platform.

Unveiled at the National Emergency Number Association conference in June, the product is a fully IP mobile workstation that enables Public Safety Answering Point professionals to work from any location that has a high-speed Internet connection – especially critical if a PSAP is forced to evacuate a building, or if a catastrophe requires call takers to work from an Emergency Operations Center and other remote locations.

"When mobile, your strength and effectiveness depend on having access to your emergency network resources and features that help you do your job" said Ray Vilis, Solacom vice president of Advanced Emergency Services, in a release. "Guardian Mobile Position was developed to keep you connected to those resources from anywhere you have access to the Internet."
"Guardian Mobile is built on the same platform as their Guardian PSAP solution so that even when mobile, responders have the same user interface and all of the same functionality that they are familiar with – including the one-button transfer and conference keys they’ve programmed" said Michael Ramsey, president of NG-911 Inc. "This greatly increases their emergency preparedness and their ability to respond to 9-1-1 calls even if an incident requires them to relocate."
