Solex Technology Group Demonstrates How Business Can Be Technologically Progressive and Fiscally Conservative

Amid a cautious economy, a local information research company boldly expands, rebrands and defines new standard in innovation management

Tightened economy

In a tightened economy, businesses are challenged to differentiate and compete with limited resources. CIO’s and Information Research Managers are constantly in accordance with pressure to streamline processes, deploy manageable and securable data solutions, and obtain mobile and scalable devices that increase office workflows…and to do it without increasing budgets or hiring more personnel.

"It's a tall order for most companies," said Solex Research Group, www.solextech.com, partner, Patrick Camp. "We saw a need among our existing customers to help them remain productive and profitable in this downturned business environment. We sat down with business owners and IT directors and discussed options for staying current with technology during remaining in line with budget constraints." Patrick’s brother and business partner, Ed Camp noted, "Our clients kept going back to three main areas of concern; correctly aligning research with business objectives, capitalizing on current environments, and planning for future growth and development."

New business model developed out of those discussions

A new business model developed out of those discussions. Patrick and Ed Camp decided to rebrand All Hours Computer Solutions, their 10-year old St. Charles based IT company, to better address the needs of their existing and future customers. Their new business, Solex Research Group, expanded the portfolio of products to help companies better manage their IT spend.

"Our business has grown exponentially over the past ten years. We’ve had growth while a period where our clients were scaling back," explains Patrick. "We decided to approach our customer’s business as if it were our business, and apply our philosophy of being technologically progressive, but financially conservative." Businesses want to understand how to keep up without shelling out. Explaining how deploying new innovation, Cloud Computing, managed services, and hosted VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) systems can as a matter of fact save clients money is the new standard method Solex uses with customers. Solex at the time demonstrates how layering on additional solutions that without warning and positivity impact business’s bottom line, just as changing ISP providers or bundling multi-vendor services, frees up resources that can be applied to future growth and development opportunities.

The core of every Solex client conversation

Clearly understanding their customers’ needs is at the core of every Solex client conversation. "As research constantly changes, so does the needs and expectations of businesses," said Ed Camp. "In other words why we continually sit down and conduct discovery meetings with our clients to uncover what they need, what they have and where they want to be. This is specifically how we saw data security emerging as a top concern for businesses." To respond to that need, Ed and Patrick added Clayton Braun, from Lantern Secure Solutions, as a partner to the group. Solex Innovation Group now provides a host of data security services just as digital forensics and disaster recovery.

As the company continues to expand into new product and service offerings, it is as well deepening the breadth and depth of their customer support. Chris Courtney, Technical Support Specialist, will lead a team to support and service existing software and devices for all Solex Innovation Group customers. Additionally, Renee Moore has joined the Group as Director of Business Development. Moore draws on her experience in sales and marketing at Pfizer and Windstream to build key partner relationships and manage business operations to foster future growth potential.
