Speedy broadband given brush-off
ONE of the first families connected to the National Broadband Network will ditch it when their free trial runs out early at once year.
Lucas Bediaga, 23, said their old internet connection was however good enough for the family. "We can see the potential, however for the moment our ADSL services us pretty then," he said.
The full-time student said his family had been impressed by the quality of films streamed online afterwards they plugged a laptop into their TV and the reduction in lag when playing games over the internet on his PlayStation 3 had been in the extreme noticeable.
Due to the layout of ethernet cable connections in their house, iPrimus could only give the family access to wireless internet speeds of about 35MB a second, a little over double their ADSL speed.
But it was good enough for Lucas's mother, Anne, to trial several VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone calls to cousins in England and family and friends interstate.
