The world's first Industrial VOIP Telephones approved

FHF Safety Products, the world leader in Industrial Telephones, introduces the Ferntel IP, the world's first Hazardous Area VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) Telephone approved for North America exactly rated Division 2. The phone offers many benefits for the industrial user, making it possible to install a useful VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) communication device in hazardous areas for the first time. The phone is UL approved for hazardous areas rated Class 1, Division 2, Groups A, B, C or D.

Proven VoIP Innovation: Plants of all types are running industrial Ethernet onto the process floor to take advantage of new process technologies. With VoIP, FHF telephones can be installed using the same network, greatly reducing installation and maintenance costs, and making the ROI back in the short run.

Universal protocols:  FHF phones use SIP or H323 protocols, they are easy to integrate with any major VoIP telephone system. Since 2005, FHF has deployed thousands of Industrial SIP Phones worldwide and has worked with every major VOIP system vendor, making sure they will integrate seamlessly into your system.

Improving Plant Safety :  Ferntel IP Telephones are available in Red or Yellow making them easily identified in an emergency situation.  Most plants do not have phones in these critical areas, now you can improve the safety for all employees by not having them rely on cell phones.

Improving Productivity:  Often, there is no way to communicate with others in a process area rated hazardous, and personnel need to leave the area to answer a question or report a concern. Labor costs are high in a clean room environment as the user needs to re-suit each time he or she enters the production area. With a suitable telephone located in the process area, questions and concerns can be addressed right away without productivity losses.

Ruggedized Construction:  The rugged construction of the phone reduces replacement and repair costs, providing a low cost of ownership, and is backed by a 3-year warranty. The Nema 3 / IP65 environmental ratings of the telephones make them suitable for harsh environments, whether they be in the open air exposed to the weather or inside exposed to corrosive chemicals.  No additional enclosure is necessary, furthermore lowering installation costs.

Simple set-up:  An LCD display is included on each phone to help speed set up in the field. Advanced settings for each telephone can be remotely configured and are accessible over the network with any standard web browser via the HTML interface.
