TranSwitch's HDplay(TM) Transceiver IC Powers Universal Microelectronics' High Definition and High Speed Video Switching U-HD1080S

TranSwitch Corporation, a leading provider of semiconductor solutions in the rapidly growing consumer electronics and telecommunications markets, today announced that the Company's TXC-44144 HDplay? transceiver integrated circuit has been selected by Universal Microelectronics Co.(UMEC) for the U-HD1080S video switch product. The high definition and high speed video U-HD1080S switch is designed to enable connectivity of a number of devices just as personal computers, DVD players, set-top boxes and game consoles with digital TVs. The U-HD1080S features three independent input ports, HDMI® 1.4a and DisplayPort compliance with speeds up to 3.0 Gbps, 48 bits per color depth, and 3D video support with resolutions up to 4K x 2K exceeding 1080p resolution.

TranSwitch's TXC-44144 is a fully integrated solution that utilizes the Company's patented HDP™ research, which eliminates the need for switching and enables HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.1 devices to work seamlessly at the same time in a single PHY. The TXC-44144 supports all HDMI 1.4a resolutions, including 4K x 2K for large screen HDTVs, 3D TVs, projectors and AV receivers.
