
URS unveils cloud portal for GSA schedule purchasing
URS-Apptis, the IT business arm of URS Corp., has received federal approval to operate its FedCloud.com as an infrastructure-as-a-service portal so government agencies can use it to make purchases on the GSA schedules.
Powered by Amazon Web Services, FedCloud.com is a portal accessible only to federal, state or local government agencies and government contractors authorized to purchase from GSA schedules for use in satisfying their cloud computing infrastructure requirements, URS said in an announcement Sept. 15.
